Nepal jun 3 :There is pressure on the government to withdraw the policy of reducing trade deficit by exporting stone, ballast and sand to India. Opposition parties, environmentalists and people from different walks of life have strongly opposed the government’s policy on the ordinance.
All political parties, except government ministers and government officials, have strongly opposed it. The main opposition Nepali Congress has strongly criticized the government’s decision in a statement. Party president Sher Bahadur Deuba has issued a statement saying that the slogan of reducing trade deficit by exploiting chure and drying water sources is like burning a house to trade in ashes. Congress has also demanded to correct the decision immediately.
